Jax Kusleika
Jax Kusleika is an illustrator based in the New England area working with a variety of mediums. A special talent for rendering works with colored pencil, skilled with graphite, and an experienced printmaker in relief and etching. He works with oil paint and watercolor, and continuously works to incorporate new materials.
In his practice observation turns into conversation. Through exploring the small details, a subtle expression, or the way clothes follow a form. The process of drawing becomes a method of asking questions- how does this work, or who are they, why are things the way they are. The answers he finds are unique to each subject, and reflect his own understanding.
